Alcohol Wash- Varroa Testing Kit

Instructions:

Collect the bees. 

1. Pour enough alcohol into the bottom of the bowl to cover approximately half of the white basket.

2. Select a 3-4 frames containing uncapped and capped brood.

3. If the queen is on the selected frame, carefully remove and protect her. Do not place the queen in the alcohol wash.

Shake and collect approx 300 bees (half a cup) from the frames 

Place inside the test kit and screw the lid on immediately to prevent the bees from escaping.

2. Separate the varroa mites

1. Gently swirl the Varroa Check in a circular motion for 2 minutes 

3. Count the mites

Count the mites by looking through the transparent bowl or by removing the bees and inspecting the liquid.
