Formic Pro (formerly MAQS+) is a simple, one-step way to knock down varroa. Each strip has a formic acid gel inside a breathable wrap that releases vapour slowly into the hive. You lay the strips across the brood area and they get to work on mites riding on adult bees and on mites breeding under capped brood.
This pack treats 2 hives.
How it works
The strip's outer wrap is made from ecoflex®, a biodegradable film from BASF. Inside is a formic acid and plant-sugar gel. Between the wrap and the bees moving air around the hive, the vapour comes out at a steady rate. It kills varroa at every life stage, both male and female, including mites that are still developing under the cappings.
For best results, apply when daytime temperatures are between 10°C and 29.5°C.
When the treatment is finished, you don't have to pull the strips out. Leave them in until your next inspection, then scrape any leftover residue off the top bars.

Handling safety
